School Workforce Remodelling

School Workforce Remodelling
National Agreement - Phase 3: September 2005

As you will be aware, Phase 3 of the National Agreement "Raising Standards and Tackling Workload" has three elements:

  • 10% guaranteed time for Planning, Preparation and Assessment (PPA)
I hope you were able to access one of the 10 PPA training sessions held for all Primary and Special Headteachers around the County last term. You will be aware that subsequently 6 Governor training sessions were held this term.

By now, you have had your budget and should be in a position to be formulating a PPA Plan for your school. If you would like some support from either myself or a Remodelling Consultant, to check through the Plan and, in particular, to ensure that it meets the legal requirements; or if you prefer to discuss it over the telephone, please contact the Workforce Remodelling Team at County Hall, on 01603 638092.

Alternatively, you may have wider issues at your school you wish to discuss and you can, of course, either contact myself or your school's Finance Support Officer, Personnel Consultant or RDA, to access appropriate support.

  • Dedicated Headship Time
The WAMG guidance on Dedicated Headship Time is still awaited and the latest information I have, is that this pack should be available by late April. The Workforce Agreement Monitoring Group (WAMG) is currently consulting on its content and you will be informed of its publication as soon as possible.

  • Exam Invigilation resource pack
The WAMG invigilation resource pack has now been published - advance copies can be ordered from Prolog on 0845 602 2260 quoting reference NRT/0065/2005 or can be downloaded from the National Remodelling Team website at http://www.remodelling.org/invigilation_pack.php. For your information, packs are being sent through the National Assessment Agency (NAA) to their mailing list of exam officers, but are not being mailed to all schools.

Ongoing support for schools and services
The provision of support to schools/services by the Workforce Remodelling Team is free of charge and an individual school visit gives the opportunity to discuss issues in detail and to access information and materials produced by the National Remodelling Team or the Norfolk Team at County Hall.
