Key Stage 3 Teacher Assessments 2005 - Electronic Submission
Key Stage 3 Teacher Assessments 2005 - Electronic Submission
The National Assessment Agency (NAA) would like schools to submit their KS3 Teacher Assessments electronically from this year. This should make the process easier at both the school and the QCA end, and also reduce the number of errors that occur when transferring data. For the process to happen smoothly, all schools will be asked to transfer their data electronically by 30th June. Having contacted over half of Norfolk's High Schools, I am reassured that this should present few, if any, problems.
The process will be along the following lines:
- KS3 Teacher Assessments entered or transferred, as usual, into Phoenix Gold Assessment Manager (or the assessment module of any other management information system)
- An export file created in CTF format - this is the standard export file created by Phoenix Gold, SIMS, RM, etc.
- The CTF uploaded onto s2s by 30th June http://www.teachernet.gov.uk/management/tools/ims/s2s/ (this is a website which your school should already be using for transfer of pupil files).
I would be grateful if you would load your file onto s2s by 30th June in order for me to check that all Norfolk data has been processed in time for the NAA's deadline.
I am still awaiting further details from NAA, eg. regarding how the summary data on foundation subject TAs will be submitted, but in the meantime I wanted you to be aware of the electronic submission process above, so that you will have a chance to prepare for this. As soon as I have further technical details I will let you know.
Please don't hesitate to give me a call if you have any queries.
