Promoting 6th form provision

EsiNet's SchoolFinder pages are the most visited part of EsiNet. We know that many parents use the pages to help them find and decide on the right school for their children. However we are aware that SchoolFinder currently has no service to help find local 6th form provision. We want to address this issue.

SchoolFinder already provides lists of schools by phase within a predetermined radius of a user-selected point in Norfolk. Our intention is to add a further list to show 6th Form provision. Whilst we can do this based on the information we already hold about your school i.e. its postcode, the more significant issue is the information provided to parents about your school and its 6th Form provision - we do not hold this information.

A further factor is the provision by colleges; we do not hold any information on this but the LSC has provided us with web links to each of the college's websites so parents and students can gather the information they require.

ACTION: I am therefore writing to ask that if you do not already have a website that includes your 6th form provision, to ask that you develop and maintain one. This is clearly optional but absence of such information could put your 6th form at a disadvantage.

Please ensure that the navigation within your website provides quick and easy links to your 6th form provision from your home page as we will can only provide a reliable link to your home page.

We intend to make this development available from 1 September 2005 so I hope that is advance notice is helpful.
