Fair Funding Consultation with Schools Autumn 2017

The National Funding Formula for schools will be introduced in April 2018, financial year 2018/19. Local Authorities will receive their funding allocations based on the National Funding Formula unit values, but under a soft formula, Local Authorities will determine individual school budgets according to local formulae following local consultation.

There is no implementation date for moving to a hard National Funding Formula for individual schools.

Under the National Funding Formula Norfolk will receive an additional £8.243m in 2018/19 (this includes additional monies for the growth of the number of pupils) and an additional £5.751m in 2019/20.

The Local Authority is consulting with Schools via an online survey to gather views on whether Norfolk should implement the unit values of the National Funding Formula in individual schools or remain with Norfolk's Local Formula for 2018/19.

Due to continued pressure on the High Needs Block important decisions need to be made on funding the future provision of specialist high needs places and Alternative Provision places for Norfolk children. One of the options is to transfer funding between the Schools Block and the High Needs Block which would impact individual school budgets.

To view the proposals and technical papers, please visit the Fair Funding page on the Norfolk Schools website.

Or to open the survey click on this link.

The survey will be available from Monday 30th October until Friday 10th November.

If you would like to discuss the proposals and how they affect your school in more detail then please email marilyn.edgeley@norfolk.gov.uk to book a slot at a finance surgery with the Education Funding Team; these will be run at the below locations on the below dates.
