Recruitment of Additional Primary Strategy Consultant Leaders

Recruitment of Additional Primary Strategy Consultant Leaders

As part of the Primary National Strategy Primary Leadership Programme 35 Norfolk Headteachers are currently working with schools in the role of Primary Strategy Consultant Leader. This year we need to expand the team and recruit additional Consultant Leaders to work in 2005 to 2006.

The programme has offered experienced and skilled headteachers an exciting opportunity to work alongside fellow headteachers and their leadership teams in other schools in a consultancy role.

In order to recruit the most suitable candidates there are nationally agreed criteria by which you should judge whether it is appropriate for you to apply. Attached are the criteria and an outline of the role and information for governing bodies. You will need to get the permission of your governors to take on this role.

You are likely to work with between 2 and 4 schools and will be funded for approximately 20 - 26 days out of your own school. You will be expected to:

  • Attend national and regional training
  • Attend an LEA meeting each half term;
  • Make 4 - 5 visits to schools across an academic year
  • Keep abreast of local and national strategies to raise standards;
  • Meet with RDAs and other advisers working in linked schools as needed;
  • Provide a record of visit on an agreed pro-forma;
  • Provide progress reports and evaluations of school progress as required.
If you decide to apply you would need to be available for a short interview/discussion on the afternoon of 7th June 2005. Those who are shortlisted will be notified by telephone on 27th May. You will also need to be available for 2 days regional training week beginning 13th June 2005.

If you are interested in applying and wish to discuss the role further, please contact Chris Snudden on 01603 433276.
