School Workforce Remodelling:

A series of half day briefing sessions combined with planning activities on the Introduction of Teaching & Learning Responsibility Payments (TLRPs)

You will no doubt be aware that the above payments are due to replace current Management Allowances by December 2008 at the latest - please refer to MI 57/05 in e-courier issue 126, from Bob Hedley.

All schools will be expected to start the planning process for this change in the coming Autumn Term developing a new management structure for each school by 31st December, 2005. Bearing in mind the need to develop new role descriptions, consultation and implementing the new structure, the timescale for this is very challenging.

To support schools in this element of the remodelling agenda we are proposing to run a series of half-day briefing sessions, jointly with Children's Services Personnel, throughout the County during June/July 2005. The purpose of the sessions is to:

• Develop a clear understanding of the legal requirements of developing TLRPs;
• Assist schools to develop planning techniques;
• Assist schools to collaborate on TLRPs development;
• Provide a management tool to assist in this process.

There is a separate morning and afternoon session on each date but please note that numbers for each session will be strictly limited to 50 places. An optional buffet lunch will be provided.

There is no provision to run subsequent briefing sessions in the Autumn Term except for Governors and the Governor Support Service will be arranging these.
