SALARY SUPPORT GRANTS FOR THE 2005/06 FINANCIAL YEAR
The DfES have allocated Norfolk an amount of £13,428,922 for Teachers Threshold and Performance Pay progression. In line with DfES guidelines the authority has consulted with the Norfolk's Schools Forum on how to distribute the grant to schools and services. The Schools Forum considered various options and agreed on the following:- To fully support UPS1 for all teachers including on-costs.
- To divide the remaining grant by the total number of eligible teachers for UPS2, UPS3 and Leadership points in school, which will be paid as a simple average.
- To distribute the grant based of those in post as at 1 September, 2005.
This is a finite grant, which will be paid when all forms have been completed and returned. Forms that are returned late or omit eligible staff will not be rectified after the grant has been distributed and there will be no grant available to make adjustments to prior year funding.
UPS1 funding for 2005/06 will be £2,829 per FTE, which includes on-costs of 22.00%, and for budget purposes we estimate funding towards UPS2, UPS3 and Leadership points will be approximately 60%.
