Advance Notice of Changes to the Way in Which Pupil Level Data Should be Transferred Between Schools and the Local Authority.

Use of AVCO Anycomms and S2S

Current Position
At present all schools are using AVCO Anycomms (known as AVCO) to submit data to County Hall securely. The exception to this is when a pupil transfers out of county then S2S is used. This system was set up following the Victoria Climbie enquiry and as part of the national agenda of helping to prevent children from going missing.

Future Position
S2S will become the default method of transferring pupil level data securely both within and outside the county. This is a proven system provided by the DfES.

First Steps
In order to ensure a smooth transition S2S will be phased in over a period of time. The first phase will be to use S2S for all pupils who transfer out of a school during term time, from the second half of the Autumn term.

Next Steps
During the next academic year the next phases will be identified and communicated with schools at lease one half term prior to the phase going live. Sessions will be held with schools to explain why the change is happening and to identify any training and access issues there might be.
