Perspective: How to Access the Software

Perspective is the software the Local Authority (LA) is recommending to all Norfolk schools to use in the preparation and maintenance of their Ofsted Self Evaluation Form (SEF). The software replaces the existing Norfolk Self-Evaluation Scheme.

An introduction to the software and how it will work in Norfolk is available through a series of Area based presentations. Please see MI Sheet 104/06 for further details of these.

You are invited, prior to these presentations, to have a look at the software yourself and start using it if you wish. This MI Sheet provides information on how to access the software and the support available.


How to Log In

A single secure log-in has been provided for each Headteacher. To access this please click here (you will need to log into My School with your Headteacher password). Here you will find your Perspective Username and Password and a link to the online Perspective software (There is also another, more convenient link to Perspective on the home page of EsiNet).

When the Perspective login screen opens you are advised to store this in your Favourites for ease of future use. Perspective can be securely accessed from any computer with Internet access.

General support for the SEF process itself should be sought from your RDA. However, RDAs are gaining access to the Perspective software at the same time as you so they may not be able to offer you full support to begin with. Full RDA support using Perspective will be available from 1st September 2006.

Ofsted submission

Ofsted have not yet released their scheme which will allow software such as Perspective to automatically submit your SEF to Ofsted. Once this is available Perspective will be updated to make this possible. In the meantime Perspective will produce a PDF file that can then be submitted to Ofsted as you have done with your previous SEFs. This is also the way to produce hard copies of your SEF, complete or otherwise.

Feedback

The LA has been keen to give you access to this software as quickly as possible, we are still populating the main data source that feeds Perspective; this will take a couple of weeks to complete. Also as you will have seen, we have not yet put all of the support, training and development elements in place. To ensure these are designed to meet your needs please give us feedback on any aspect of the use or potential use of Perspective.
