Ofsted Inspections

You will be aware that the statutory regulations under section 5 of the Educaiton Act and the framework for inspecting schools will be changing from September 2005. One major change is that there will no longer be a long period of notice before an inspection team comes into your school. The maximum period of notice you will receive will be 5 days before the inspection begins.

We will still need to ensure the Authority has a record of the inspections taking place and that Officers are able to attend, if necessary or required, during the inspection to provide the Authorities perspective to the team. I would therefore be grateful if you could both inform your RDA and telephone Isabel Horner on 01603 223909 as soon as you are contacted and told that an inspection of your school will be taking place.
