PLASC 2006

The Dfes requires all schools to complete their 2006 PLASC return on 19th January 2006. Please ensure that your PLASC file reaches the Management Information Centre no later than 27th January 2006.

The introduction of the Dedicated Schools Grant funding arrangements make it more important than ever that your data is submitted promptly and right first time. The data will be used to finalise the funding allocation for 2006/07, so it is very important to ensure your data is accurate before sending the return. The tight timescale means there will be little opportunity to make amendments at a later date.

Please note there are no new data items for PLASC 2006.

What you can do now

Ensure that you have installed the Phoenix Version 1.33 upgrade if you haven't already done so- the disks were issued in the last few weeks. Once installed, there are plenty of checks you can do to your data before census day. We strongly advise that you do these checks and do not wait until January. Guidance regarding the preparations for PLASC are on the ICT Solutions website. We would also encourage you to complete at least one PLASC 'dry-run', as per the guidance.

PLASC 2006 Presentations

Because of the importance to your school of the accuracy and timeliness of this return, we strongly advise anyone who will be responsible for the return who has not done so before, to attend one of the presentations below- there is no charge.

The presentation will give users an opportunity to see a demonstration of the 2006 PLASC module within your Phoenix Gold software, understand the processes and procedures required and be aware of deadlines for completing and returning the data. There will also be an opportunity to ask general questions that you may have concerning the PLASC return.
