Children Missing Education - Tracking and Monitoring
There is a new statutory duty on all Local Authorities to identify and track children missing education or at risk of doing so. A multi-agency group has met to devise a policy and procedures, which can be found by clicking on the above hyperlink. This brings together the roles of all agencies and details their responsibilities, including those of schools.A review of the form used by schools to inform the Local Authority when a child is deleted from an admissions register, as required by the education regulations, has been completed. The new form, which will be available electronically, is included with the procedures.
Another form has also been devised to help other agencies to inform the Local Authority when it is suspected a child is at risk of missing education.
