From 1 January 2018 the Attendance Service became part of the Education Quality Assurance and Intervention Service. As part of the recent Education Services Review, there has been a reduction in staffing and as a consequence the team will need to offer a different type of service and support to schools including a traded offer. The team will not be able to offer consultations and attendance at fast-track meetings in the way it did before.

During the Spring Term 2018 the Attendance Service will be redeveloped and we will publish a clear offer of services available to schools by the end of the term. As part of this process, we wish to seek the views of schools about their needs and how we can meet these. We would ask all staff with responsibility for attendance to complete this short survey by 2 February 2018; this should take no longer than 5-10 minutes to complete. The survey can be accessed here.

In the interim period, advice and support is available to all schools via the central Attendance Service telephone number: 01603 223681. The team will continue to respond to and investigate Children Missing Education referrals in the same way as before.
