Consultation on the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)

The long awaited consultation on the Early Years Foundation Stage has now been published on the DfES Website. The Early Years Foundation Stage will be implemented in all schools and settings working with children aged between birth and the end of their Reception year in school from 2008, The consultation may be accessed by using the following weblink: http://www.dfes.gov.uk/consultations/conDetails.cfm?consultationId=1393

As part of the Norfolk Children's Services response to this consultation, we would like to seek your views on this document. We will be holding a series of meetings around the county to give you an opportunity to hear a summary of the key points within the Early Years Foundation stage consultation and discuss some of the issues and questions this initiative raises. We would like to invite you or one or two representatives, including parent and / or governor representatives if appropriate, from your setting / school / organisation to attend one of these meetings. The meetings will be held at the following times:

King's Lynn Professional Development Centre	Wednesday 28th June at 1.00-3.00pm and 7.00-9.00pm
Norwich Professional Development Centre	Monday 3rd July at 7.00pm-9.00pm
Norwich, Abbey Conference Centre	Tuesday 4th July at 1.00pm-3.00pm
Great Yarmouth Imperial Hotel	Thursday 6th July at 1.00pm-3.00pm and 7.00pm-9.00pm
