Calculation and Allocation of School Standards Grant (Personalisation) - SSG (P)

The DfES has published the methodology for allocating the additional funds being made available to schools through the School Standards Grant (Personalisation) to further support personalised learning at Key Stages 1-4. Funding will be allocated to primary, secondary and special schools and Pupil Referral Units. The funding for primary and secondary schools will be allocated on the basis of a flat rate for all pupils, funding for each pupil eligible for Free School Meals and funding for pupils with low prior attainment.

Special schools will receive a block allocation with additional funding for each pupil FTE over 100.

Pupil Referral Units will receive a block allocation.

An interactive calculator that allows schools to calculate the amount of SSG (P) that will be received in 2006/07 and 2007/08 can be found at www.teachernet.gov.uk/personalisation.

Schools will be allocated the budget for SSG (P) for 2006/07 in September this year.

The attached spreadsheet shows the allocations that will be made for 2006/07 and the calculation for 2007/08; the latter will be included in the initial budget share allocation in April 2007.
