Termly Data Return - Ethnicity
It has been a national requirement from Government since 2001 that schools collect data on the ethnicity of their pupils and that it is reported in the regular returns they have to make.
The termly school data return, September Return, is due on 14th September 2006. This collection includes data on ethnicity which historically has not been as good as it should.
OfSTED has identified the necessity for correct ethnicity data for analysis across the County and is requiring the LA and schools to be ever mindful of minorities and their achievements.
Schools must ensure that ethnicity is recorded as correctly as possible for this year's September Return.
Funding via the Ethnic Miniority Achievement Grant will be based on this information and schools in future will receive their allocation based on the information provided.
The categories for recording ethnicity are already available within the Phoenic software.
