Nominations for Governor Representatives for the Norfolk Schools Forum
The Norfolk Governors' Network (NGN) is seeking nominations from governing bodies for governor representatives on the Norfolk Schools Forum. The Schools Forum (Amendment) (England) Regulations 2005 required that the election of governors to the Schools Forum should be independent and open to all governors as appropriate. To this end the NGN consulted with all governing bodies in Norfolk and regulations were agreed on this process; these can be found on the NGN website.Action Required
At the first full governing body meeting in the Autumn Term: have nominations for governor representatives on the Norfolk Schools Forum as an agenda item.
Every governing body is responsible for giving their governors the opportunity to stand.

Further information
There are vacancies for 3 Primary and 3 Secondary governor representatives on the Norfolk Schools Forum. The Norfolk Governors' Network is seeking to fill these vacancies.
The Norfolk Schools Forum is important because it makes decisions on certain school funding issues and, at times, must be consulted by the Local Authority on other funding decisions. It is vital that governors are fully represented on this influential body.
The Norfolk Schools Forum meets around seven times throughout the year; the meetings are usually in Norwich and may be in the morning or the afternoon. Governor representatives should be able to attend these meetings; when they cannot attend they will be able to contact the clerk of the NGN to arrange for a substitute to attend.
The term of office for governor representatives is four years from 1st January 2007.
