Target Setting (Secondary) - Autumn Term 2006

Target Setting - Autumn Term 2006

Please see below, guidance on the target setting process for this year. What help is available?

  • Guidance is provided by DfES

  • Provisional targets will be discussed with the school's School Improvement Partner (SIP)

  • Fischer Family Trust estimates are available, and paper copies are being sent to you for:

    • Ø Current Year 8, based on Key Stage 2
Ø Current Year 10, based on Key Stage 2
and will be available by the end of October for current Year 10 based on Key Stage 3. (You are recommended to use Type C and Type D estimates and set targets within that range if appropriate.)

In addition to being sent paper copies of the above estimates, most schools already have a current FFT database from which estimates can be extracted either in report form, or in Excel to allow manipulation and analysis. As soon as this year's assessments are incorporated (in October), a new FFT database will be sent to you. If you have any questions relating to Fischer Family Trust data, please contact Chris Jackson in the Information and Research Centre, Tel: 01603 224223. (If you have a Year 8 intake, please contact Chris and she will be able to provide you with a revised database which reflects most of the summer transfers.)
