External Assessment

The DfES is expecting that all secondary schools will have reached the required Standard by March 2007.

Unless you inform me to the contrary, I will assume that you will require Norfolk LA to provide your FMSiS external assessment. In order to complete the assessments by the stated deadline, I would ask that schools endeavour to return their completed self-assessment forms and the evidence to support the FMSiS by the end of the Autumn Term.

Please note that schools using an alternative assessor must inform me of their intentions as soon as possible. Schools undergoing an optional external annual audit may alternatively provide a statement from their auditors that the required Standard has been reached; a copy of the annual audited accounts is not sufficient for this purpose.
