Moderator-Led Assessment Networks

Local Authority Moderators have been running moderator-led Assessment Networks for teachers in YR, Y2 and Y6 throughout January and into the beginning of February. The events were held free of charge at the moderators' schools and at additional school venues, to ensure that all teachers could attend an event local to their school. Around 300 teachers from each key stage attended the events and the feedback from moderators, teachers, and headteachers has been very positive. Many thanks to all concerned.

The next moderator-led Assessment Networks will be in April/May. These events will be for YR, Y2 and Y6 teachers to attend with the teachers who will be receiving their class in September. I will be sending emails to headteachers and school offices shortly with the dates these will be run.

Upcoming Briefings:

Assessment and Reporting Arrangements (ARA) and Test Administration Briefings

This is a half day briefing for Senior Leaders, Assessment Leads, Middle Leaders, SENDCOs and Class Teachers. The briefing will outline the requirements for teacher assessment and test administration and the responsibilities that schools have relating to these.

During the half day, delegates will be briefed on requirements for accurate teacher assessment, reporting and test administration.

By attending delegates will be briefed to enable them to:

• Ensure accurate assessment of pupils using the EYFS, KS1 and 2 teacher assessment frameworks
• Understand which pupils should and should not be entered for the tests and how to use access arrangements - KS1 and 2
• Know how to prepare for and administer the tests appropriately
• Ensure accurate assessment and reporting of the attainment of the pupils working below the standard of the test - KS1 and 2
• Submit accurate attainment data to DfE
