School Risk Ranking Surveys
As part of our Risk Management programme, we will be conducting risk surveys of all Norfolk schools from autumn onwards.A similar exercise was previously carried out in 2002/3 and its primary purpose was to carry out a site survey related to fire, security, premises and visitor control measures. This year we intend to extend the survey to include further health and safety and liability risks. The survey will provide risk ranking tables showing the comparative exposure of every school to the risks under consideration. Where relevant, the surveys will also identify areas for risk improvements at your school.
This information will be of great assistance to us in planning future strategy, supporting risk reduction in schools and setting appropriate premium levels.
The surveys will be conducted by professional surveyors from Zurich Municipal Insurance and will comprise a visit of approximately 3 hrs for High Schools and 2hrs for other schools. This will include an interview with the headteacher, H&S Co-ordinator and/or site manager and a physical survey of the site.
The surveys will begin after autumn half term and will run through until November 2007 when we hope to have completed all schools.
