Modern Reward Strategy - Job Matching, What happens next?

Modern Reward Strategy (MRS) - Job Matching - What Happens Next?

I would like to thank you for all your effort in completing a return for your school. The information you have provided is now being used to update our records and will also be invaluable in informing our proposals and negotiations on the new pay and grading structure.

Where queries have been identified on the job matching spreadsheet, and particularly where posts could not be matched, we will be contacting you to obtain more information. There are then several options:

  1. If possible we will offer alternative Templates or Job Analysis Questionnaires (JAQs) as potential matches for you to consider.

  2. If a job in your school is not covered by any Template or JAQ we will take a decision on whether the job needs a full job evaluation. If we chose the latter, this will involve visiting the school and completing a JAQ at a two hour meeting with either the post holder, the post's line manager or yourself. (We anticipate that most jobs will have counterparts in other schools and if so we will evaluate one and offer it as a match to other schools with the same posts.)

  3. If the job not covered is administrative/financial we have a separate process, agreed with the Trade Unions, by which we can match these against an Administrative Matrix. To do this we will need the current job description and person specification, but please don't send these until we ask.

  4. We also anticipate that there will be a few more employees that we didn't identify in this first job matching exercise who will need to be matched and we will contact you directly should this be necessary.

Finally, we would be grateful if those few schools yet to return the spreadsheet would do so as soon as possible. To help you through this exercise we have put some Frequently Asked Questions on the Esinet website and we will be telephoning you to offer help and advice.

Once again thank you for your support to this important part of the MRS project.
