Performance Management for teachers and Headteachers - planning and briefing sessions in Spring Term 2007
Further to MI 107/06, MI 112/06, MI 161/06 and MI 173/06, the DfES consultation ended on 30th August, 2006 and The Education (School Teacher Performance Management) (England) Regulations 2006 were laid before Parliament early in October and approved.During November, Local Authority officers attended national training on revised performance management for teachers and Headteachers. As a result, briefing sessions have been arranged around the County during February and March 2007 for Headteachers and, where appropriate, one member of the teaching staff in school who will take a role in performance management. The objectives of these sessions are:
By the end of this event, participants will:
- Know and understand what is different about the revised Performance Management regulations
- Be confident in fulfilling their role in implementing the revised Performance Management regulations
- Know what support and guidance is available
- Identify the next steps to put the necessary arrangements in place
- Understanding the Regulations and Guidance
- Starting the implementation process
Numbers for each session are strictly limited to 42 places and in completing the online proforma - you will be prompted to choose a second preferred date and venue if your first choice is already full.
Supply cover will be made available for one delegate per school.
