Norfolk's Admission Arrangements Consultation for September 2008

CONSULTATION DOCUMENT

Admission Arrangements For September 2008

Introduction

Norfolk County Council is required to consult on the proposed co-ordination schemes for September 2008. Additionally all admission authorities are required to consult on their proposed admission arrangements each year and consultation must be concluded before 1 March each year.

This document details proposed co-ordination schemes for Norfolk primary and secondary schools for September 2008 and changes to admission arrangements proposed by the County Council as admission authority for all Norfolk Community and Voluntary Controlled schools.

A form is attached to enable consultees to respond to these proposals. Also as in previous years, a web site is available so that schools can respond to these proposals electronically. All consultees are encouraged to use this facility, wherever possible. The County Council will also display admission arrangements for foundation and VA schools who wish to use this facility offering schools the opportunity to comment on these proposals too.

Key changes proposed by us for September 2008 relate to:
Re-organisation arrangements in the Yarmouth/Gorleston area.
Catchment area for proposed new West Costessey Primary School

The consultation on proposed admission limits for September 2008 is being undertaken separately and has been forwarded to schools via eCourier on 20 January 2007 (MI 10/07). Each school's limit can be viewed at: Admission Numbers 2008

Responses must be returned by 23 February 2007 and can either be input directly via Esinet or by completing the attached response form (pages 2 - 7) and returning to:
Hayley Goodson, Deputy Head of Admissions, Norfolk County Council, School Admissions, County Hall, Norwich, NR1 2DL
