Employee Survey of all Staff - Run by Ipsos MORI

The County Council is working in partnership with Ipsos Mori the independent research agency to run an Employee Survey including covering all schools based employees.

Copies of the questionnaire for all employees in schools will be distributed shortly to each school. A detailed briefing note for Headteachers and a Frequently Asked Question (FAQ) sheet for employees will also be provided.

The aims and potential benefits of running this employee survey are:-

• To enable us to measure the perceptions of our workforce in schools around key areas including performance management, communication.


• Provide the ability to analyse the perceptions of our difference professional groups in schools to see if there area any significant trends and differences eg teachers, LSAs.


• Provide useful information to support our Every Child Matters priorities.


• Provide information to support work around recruitment and retention matters e.g. trends on employee perceptions on their workloads.

The questionnaire has been developed with MORI, input from some Heads and in consultation with the Trade Unions who are supporting this exercise. The questionnaire seeks views on their environment in schools, alongside their perceptions of the County Council as a whole.

The information will be analysed across different professional groups, and types of schools.
