Year 3 Literacy support materials DfES Ref: 00042-2007FLR-EN, Sir Kit’s Quest

I am pleased to confirm that the Year 3 Literacy support materials will be available to order from Prolog from 28 March. Distribution will be via schools only at one copy per school.

Year 3 Literacy Support (Y3LS) is a Wave 2 intervention programme designed for use in Year 3 for pupils at risk of underachievement. It was successfully piloted and evaluated in 2005-06. It features Sir Kit, who faces a range of challenges in his quest to defeat the dragon fiercely guarding the secrets in the magic box hidden on Dragon Island.

The materials consist of detailed sessions designed for use by trained Teaching Assistants working in close partnership with class teachers, together with guidance on implementation and pupil progress tracking.
