Ofsted Pupil Survey

Ofsted Survey

Every year Children’s Services is assessed by Ofsted and other inspectorates through the Annual Performance Assessment (APA). This year Ofsted are introducing a new survey of children in Norfolk. To do this Ofsted will identify up to 60 Norfolk schools giving a total pupil population of around1,300. The survey will be of children in Years 6, 8 and 10 and so any schools with pupils of that age may be chosen by Ofsted, although Special Schools will not be included until this is repeated next year.

The survey must be done online. Schools will be asked to identify unstreamed classes in the appropriate year groups to carry out the survey. The survey is to be done in the period 24 April to 25 May. We recognise that, particularly for Year 6 pupils, this is not good timing but hope you will be able to fit in the survey with minimum disruption.

This is advance notice of the survey. Ofsted are conducting the survey through a link officer within each LA. I am the link officer for Norfolk. Please contact me (see details above) if you have any enquiries. I hope to be contacting the selected schools by e-mail to the school ’office’ account as soon as I am notified of the list by Ofsted.

You will readily appreciate our hopes of a successful inspection. The new children’s survey is an important aspect of the inspection process and so we would strongly encourage your support to make it as successful as possible.
