Performance Management for Teachers and Headteachers

As a follow-up to the performance management briefing and planning sessions held around the County during February and March 2007, and in May, on the revised performance management arrangements for teachers and headteachers. There is now the opportunity for Primary and Special schools to book appropriate staff on sessions devised by Elizabeth Shenstone, Senior Primary Adviser, in liaison with Peter Simmonds, Workforce Remodelling Project Manager.

These sessions are designed to help both experienced and inexperienced staff undertake the role of the reviewer in Performance Management. By the end of the session, participants will have had the opportunity to clarify the statutory requirements and identify effective practice in:

Setting objectives

Professional development

Monitoring and feedback

Conducting the review meeting

The development of professional portfolios
