Performance Management for Teachers and Headteachers

As a follow-up to the recent Performance Management planning and briefing sessions held around the County during the Spring Term, and in May, this message is to alert you to the publication of the RIG 'How To' sheets which provide useful information on:

• How to create the right environment for performance management as an inclusive process.


• How to address issues of equality, fairness and diversity in the implementation of performance management.


• How to address the effective preparation and support of reviewers.


• How to address the link between performance management, school improvement and other school processes.

These can be accessed on the Training and Development Agency website, together with other resources which schools might find useful.

Also, further to MI 85/07, this is a reminder about the sessions available to Primary and Special schools during June, devised and to be delivered by Elizabeth Shenstone, Senior Primary Adviser, for both experienced and inexperienced staff on undertaking the role of reviewer.
