Approximately 200 schools will receive project support
All schools will receive the universal offer of support
Intensive Support | Band 2 - ISP Band 1 - ISP + |
Targeted Offer | Bands 4 & 3 |
Universal Offer | All Bands |
In order to match the support to the needs of your school you are invited to apply for involvement in one of the following projects.
INTENSIVE SUPPORT - schools for Intensive support will be identified and contacted directly according to the following criteria.
10 schools have already been identified as schools that have been below the DfES floor targets at the end of KS2 for at least 3 years. These schools will be Band 1.
A further 10 schools will be identified for ISP (Intensifying Support Programme) based on performance data over the last 3 years. The criteria for identification will include:
- Schools in an OFSTED category
- Schools where results are below the floor targets in both or either En and Maths for 2 years
- Schools where CVA is - 1.5 or below
(Schools that meet all three of the above criteria will be prioritised.) These schools will be Band 2.
TARGETED SUPPORT - PROJECTS
All targeted support will be through action research based projects. Funding will be allocated and projects will be managed by a Primary Strategy or Primary Adviser. Funding will be allocated to support access to training and in-school development. Some schools may receive school-based adviser support but this will be negotiated according to need with the project lead adviser.
The projects are on offer to all schools, however only 200 schools will be offered a place in a funded project. You will need to match yourselves to the criteria detailed below. Please look to see if a project matches a school improvement priority identified in your SEF/SIDP. Your SDA will discuss this menu with you and may suggest that you apply for specific projects based on the development needs of the school.
Please complete and return if you wish to access either intensive or targeted support from the Primary Strategy by 29th June 2007.
