Early Years Foundation Stage

Following on from the ‘open sessions’ held in May we have now organised briefing sessions that will be held at various locations around the County in September/October. The briefing session will last approximately two hours. The first hour will be a PowerPoint presentation. This will give you the opportunity to begin to:

• Understand key changes


• Consider implications for your setting


• Consider your responsibilities as a manager/leader

The second hour will give you an opportunity to explore the pack in a more practical way.

The briefing sessions will be delivered by representatives from across Children’s Services including the Early Years and Childcare Team, the Primary Team, and the Area Teams alongside support organisations. They are specifically for Headteachers, Early Years Teachers, Childminders Managers and Supervisors in all settings caring for children 0 – 5.

In order to make best use of this session it is important that both Headteachers/Managers attend together with Lead Practitioners in EYFS. We will allocate approximately two places per setting.

Please note that places on each session will be limited to 30. We will then confirm your place in writing.
