Steering the school & LA electronic systems

Steering the school & LA electronic systems

The increasing reliance of electronic systems to support the management of schools is, by now, self-evident. There will be no surprise that this is likely to increase over time. Yet, like any system, the development and use of these systems needs good management and advice to be truly fit for purpose.

The LA currently recommends the use of the following software and online management information tools:

  • Phoenix Gold to become E1

  • The Norfolk Schools and, from the Spring term, Norfolk Learn websites

  • Perspective

  • RAISE Online

  • Finance software e.g. Cash Accounts, LM Accounts, Star Accounts, Budget, Catering and Lettings

  • IPSS and KeyData

  • General e-communications

To ensure the systems are fit for purpose, develop in a direction preferred by Norfolk and work as closely together as possible, needs your input. Such input will continue to be gathered informally through feedback opportunities, but the LA would also like a more proactive forum for such an important area of schools' work.

Headteacher's and Governors' associations have already put some names forward:

Nigel Smith Headteacher, The Clare School
Martin White Headteacher, Drayton Junior School
Barry Whiting Governor
Judy Leggett Governor

Given the remit of the group, it would be helpful to have other school based colleagues represented, especially from the secondary phase, who have an interest in this area of work such as secretaries, bursars and managers.

We would like to get this important group started as soon as possible. If you would like to join the group please contact Nigel Peacock, (01603 223913 as soon as you can.
