Extended Schools Programme
In MI 109/07 and MI 125/07, schools were informed that the Norfolk Extended Schools programme had been modified to better fit where schools and clusters were now in this agenda and to reflect any changes to core offer definitions.Nationally, there are now 8,000 schools providing or offering access to the full core offer of extended services and 72 percent offering some extended provision. The DCSF expect all schools to be providing access to the full core offer of extended services by 2010.
In Norfolk, over 250 schools have accessed the Extended Schools training programme, either individually or as a cluster, which is delivered by experienced and knowledgeable Extended Schools Remodelling Consultants and facilitated by the schools' Development Workers.
For any remaining schools/clusters who would like to join the Extended Schools training programme, there is now the opportunity to participate in Tranche 6 (Spring Term 2008) or Tranche 7 (Summer Term 2008) and access these support modules:
Module 1: Introduction to the Extended Schools Programme
Module 2: Moving Forward and Planning
Module 3: Consultation
Module 4: Planning for Sustainability.
The modules can be accessed in total, or on a 'pick and mix' basis and for more information on dates, timings and venues, please click here.
For those schools/clusters that have not yet accessed the training programme, this includes a contribution towards supply costs and expenses on a pro-rata basis, depending on attendance at one, some, or all of the modules. Schools/clusters will need to contact their area based Early Years, Childcare and Extended Schools Development Worker to discuss their participation, including bringing along any potential partners to workshop events. |
|
For those schools/clusters that have already accessed the training programme but feel that, at this stage, one or more of the modules would be of benefit, it is possible to attend an appropriate workshop. However, there will be no contribution to supply/expenses although the modules are FREE. Schools/clusters will need to contact their area based Early Years, Childcare and Extended Schools Development Worker to discuss their attendance. |
