Management Information Sheet
Norfolk County Council SEMH services
We are pleased to announce that starting from the summer term 2018, Educational Psychology and Specialist Support (EPSS) will be offering the services of a new SEMH team on a traded basis.
The team will assess pupils identified with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and use evidence based knowledge and skills to develop intervention plans, under the guidance of a named EPSS professional. It will work with school staff, parents/carers and other support agencies to prevent problems worsening and interfering with the child's ability to engage with school and learning. Additionally, it will provide information, advice, guidance, consultation, assessment, training, and intervention work with the pupil, including practical classroom support.
The SEMH team can be accessed via EPSS traded contracts, available in the Educators Solutions portal. As usual, we have looked very carefully at costs and made sure we kept the tariffs as low as possible for the SEMH services, which could be accessed via two main routes:
- If you have an EPSS contract and wish to request SEMH support, your most cost efficient option is to top up your EPSS contracts with a specific number of days to be used for SEMH work. Please be aware that for SEMH (as well as ASD) services, we will be using a 2:1 algorithm, meaning that you get 2 days for any 1 EPSS day purchased. For instance, if you have and ECO Gold of 30 EPSS days and wish to purchase 28 ASD / SEMH days, then you will top up with 14 days=and have a total of 44 days of ECO Gold.
- If you do not have an EPSS contract, you should request the SEMH / ASD Bespoke Package. Typically, here, you would buy a number of days (minimum 2 days) where the daily rate is calculated at £200/day.
