Home education: Department for Education consultation and call for evidence
The Department for Education (DfE) has launched a call for evidence on issues connected with elective home education. The consultation document does not put forward any specific government proposals for change but it seeks comment, evidence and suggestions in relation to registration of children educated at home, monitoring of home education provision and support for home educators.
The DfE is also seeking comment on draft versions of two guidance documents about elective home education - one for local authorities and the other for parents. The deadline for the consultation is 02 July 2018.
