It is expected that larger clusters of schools will advertise these posts through the Norfolk County Council website in accordance with equal opportunities. Existing experienced Parent Support Advisers, whose fixed term contracts will be coming to an end on 31st July 2008, might wish to apply for these posts.
For any Parent Support Adviser new to the post (from September 2008), a full training programme will be offered by Norfolk Children's Services, to National Occupational Standards, at no cost to clusters. The first training round will be offered in September 2008. An ongoing programme of professional development will be offered to all Parent Support Advisers by Norfolk Children's Services through the PSA network meetings.
Each cluster will need to nominate a lead school to hold the contract and funding for the Parent Support Adviser unless a Service Level Agreement is set up with the voluntary sector (Additional Information sheet). A line manager will also need to be named who will provide ongoing support and be the point of contact within the cluster, and for NCS. Discussions will need to take place within each cluster to identify the potential line manager who will be able to attend one of the briefings (see Additional Information).
