HR Consultancy Support for Schools - September 2008

Further to recent notifications, we have now appointed to all posts in the Children's Services HR Consultancy (Schools) teams and allocations to schools for September 2008 have been finalised.

We have been able to divert some funding which means that the team now consists of a increased number of experienced HR professionals working on full-time or part-time contracts. HR Consultants will continue working on more complex casework and HR Officers will provide support, particularly with ill-health cases. HR Officers work closely with the HR Consultants and can be used as a point of contact if the allocated HR Consultant is not available.

  • Yvonne Afford (01603 638061) Yvonne works on a part-time basis - Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and alternate Thursdays.
  • Louise Everett (01603 638062) Louise works on a part-time basis - Tuesdays, Wednesday mornings, Thursdays and Fridays.
  • Ali Fiddy (01603 638126) Ali is returning from maternity leave on 22nd September 2008 and will be working on a part-time basis
    - Mondays, Tuesdays and alternate Thursdays.
  • Annelies Hall (01603 222803) Annelies works full-time through a nine-day fortnight arrangement. Fortnightly non-working days alternate
    between Thursdays and Fridays.
  • Claire Jones (01603 223484) Claire works full-time.
  • Sharon Knight (01603 638074) Sharon works full-time but spends 60% of her time working on projects.
  • Jill Wragg (01603 223481) Jill works on a part-time basis and is not in the office on Fridays.

    Please note that:

    Helen Howard is currently seconded to work on the SEN Review.
    Pollyanna Millie is on maternity leave until April/May 2009.

    Allocation of HR Consultants to Schools has taken into account the school cluster arrangements. Details are given below.

    Ian Cooper Charles Burrell High and Downham Market High (Ian will also be working very closely alongside advisory
    colleagues to give additional support to schools where there is concern or are in special measures.)
    Louise Everett Clusters 2, 10 (not St Thomas More Junior or St John's RC Primary), 12, 19, 21, 45, and 49
    Ali Fiddy Clusters 3, 11, 23 and North Elmham Primary
    Annelies Hall Clusters 9, 28, 31, 33, 35, 38, 42 (not Downham Market High or Clackclose Primary),
    46, 50 (not Charles Burrell High), and 52

    Allocations for HR Officers will be confirmed once working arrangements for Sally Frith and Kelly Pick have been finalised. Until September 19th, schools can continue to contact Christine Shorten (01603 224250) or Katie Partridge (01603 638126) as per the previous allocation. The HR Officer role is being reviewed in order to ensure we use this resource as effectively as possible.

    HR queries of a more straightforward nature (e.g. maternity, paternity, payroll, contracts) should continue to be addressed to the Employee Services Centre in the first instance.
