Leading Teacher for Gifted & Talented Training - Cross Phases

All schools are expected to have access to a G&T leading teacher (1 per secondary school; 1 between approx 6 primary schools). Gifted and talented leading teacher training is available each term at both Norwich and King's Lynn. Training can be delivered in clusters if requested.

The 2 half day leading teacher training sessions will be designed to:

Explore the role of the leading teacher;

Seek to develop provision in the context of whole school improvement and self-evaluation; and

Raise awareness of the issues in teaching gifted and talented learners.

In addition to the G&T leading teacher initial training: updates, support and further development opportunities are available through the G&T network meetings each term.

The sessions will be designed to:

Increase confidence, knowledge and skills of G&T coordinators/ leading teachers;

Provide a forum to share practice, problem solve and offer peer support to colleagues; and

Develop collaborative activities.
