Norfolk Children's Services Education Recommendations - Safeguarding Children

As a result of findings of Local Chapter 8 agency reports related to children who have suffered significant harm or death, the Local Safeguarding Children Board has requested that all schools are asked to follow the good practice recommendations set out below:

a) "That all schools should ensure full records, including any child protection files are sent onto receiving schools at transfer".

Schools need to assure themselves that the records have been received and that the child has arrived at the receiving school.

Where records do not arrive these should be chased rigorously.

Where the child does not arrive at the receiving school this must be reported to the area attendance team and Val Creasy, Attendance and Exclusions manager, 01603 306402.

By full records we mean academic, attendance, SEN records, CP records and any course work which has been completed by the child and is required to complete a course/exam.

b) " All educational establishments should complete Child Protection Conference reports on Form LSCB1"

This form can be found at www.lscb.norfolk.gov.uk then selecting Forms from the left hand list.
