Harnessing Technology Capital Grant

Harnessing Technology Grant

Schools have now been devolved their 2008-09 share of the Harnessing Technology Grant (ECAPHT). This grant can be spent on ICT infrastructure, equipment, upgrades, software and digital curriculum resources, where they count as capital expenditure (see Becta guidance).

There is detailed Norfolk guidance for this funding as well as the national Becta guidance. The emphasis for this capital grant is on embedding ICT in the learning process. We know that most Norfolk Schools are above the national average for ICT resources and this is not yet true for other indicators in relation to their use. School leaders should ensure that further expenditure on resources is accompanied by detailed plans for their use and the impact that will have on learning.

Schools will receive the following devolved allocation per pupil:

2008/09 2009/10 2010/11
£17.30 £16.40 £15.10

The allocation of this grant was considered by both the ICT Partnership Group and the Learning Platform Board before the final allocations for the 2008/11 period were agreed by the Schools Forum.

Details of your schools exact allocation will shortly be available on the Budget Share website.

All expenditure should be coded to project code ECAPHT.
