Nominations for Primary Governor Member on the Norfolk Schools Forum

There are 2 vacancies for primary school governor members on the Norfolk Schools Forum.

The Norfolk Governance Network (NGN) is seeking nominations from primary phase state school governing bodies.

Academy primary schools are not included as there is a separate Academy governor member on the Schools Forum.

Information regarding Schools Forum can be found on the following link, the minutes of the previous meetings will give you an insight into what happens at a Schools Forum meeting.

Please bring this to the attention of your governing board at the earliest opportunity and we look forward to receiving your governing board's nomination.

Action Required

Every primary governing body is responsible for giving their governors the opportunity to stand. Each governing body can nominate one governor from their governing body. Nominations must be received by noon on Wednesday 19th September 2018. Nominations should include 100 words as a pen portrait describing reasons for interest and suitability.

If we receive two or less nominations these individuals will receive an automatic place on Schools Forum, if we receive 3 or more an election will be held, details of which will be posted on e-courier on 22 September 2018.

Please send nominations to Justine Petersen, NGN Clerk, jvpclerking@gmail.com by 12pm Wednesday 19th September.

Further Information

The Norfolk Schools Forum is an important statutory body which makes decisions on certain school funding issues and, at times, must be consulted by the Local Authority on other funding decisions. It is vital that governors are fully represented on this influential body.

The Norfolk Schools Forum meets around seven times throughout the year; the meetings are in the Norwich area and may be in the morning or the afternoon. It must be stressed that governors who take on this role must be available to attend meetings which take place during the working day. If governor members are unable to attend they must contact the clerk of the NGN to arrange for a substitute to attend. The term of office for governor members is four years.

We look forward to receiving your nominations.
