Bright Spots Survey - Norfolk Looked After Children

Norfolk County Council is participating in a national survey to gather the views of Norfolk Looked After Children. We are asking Designated Teachers to partner with us and support young people to complete this ten-minute survey. The outcomes will provide us with valuable information which will influence decision making and planning and so will have an impact on service development and delivery.

We are currently working in partnership to complete the Bright Spots survey which will enable us to see how Norfolk looked after children and young people rate their feelings of wellbeing in a variety of categories. Co-produced with young people, this joint Coram Voice and Bristol University programme is the largest survey of its kind and gives young people the chance to share their experiences.

Bright spots use a trusted adult model and as the Designated Teacher you will be well placed to support Norfolk looked after children in your school to complete this simple online survey which is mainly multiple choice and takes less than 10 minutes to complete. The survey can be completed at any time and if you have a PEP review planned this would provide an ideal opportunity.

The survey will provide us with valuable information about where we are strong and which areas we need to improve, the recommendations produced as a result of the survey will influence decision making and planning and so will have an impact on services they receive moving forward.

Debbie Fyans, a Social Care Team Manager is the point of contact and would be happy to support the process, including attending the PEP review if it would be helpful and the young person is in agreement. Debbie can be contacted on :
