Norfolk Schools Accessibility Strategy
The council is seeking to engage and work with disabled children from our mainstream and special schools on the co-design of the tools as set out below in these priorities written into our Accessibility Strategy.
Priority 1 Offer schools a simple access audit tool, that has been co-designed with disabled children, to assist schools to work with their pupils (both disabled and non-disabled) to identify access issues within the school environment and work systematically to address these over the medium term. By December 2019.
Priority 3 Offer schools a decision-making tool that has been co-designed with disabled children that sets simple questions to ask suppliers about accessibility. By the end of December 2019.
We are seeking expressions of interest from schools with disabled children and young people who can work with us in the autumn term 2019.
If you have anything that you would be willing to share that could be used as a starting point, that would also be gratefully received.
If you are able to help, please can you email Claire Jones by end of June 2019.
