School Term and Holiday Dates 2021-22 and 2022-23
Local Authorities have a duty to set the school term dates for local authority maintained schools, such as community and voluntary controlled schools. We received 19 responses during the consultation.

The response rate was low and the majority of respondents agreed with the proposed term dates. The responses were mixed on the staff training dates. Whilst there are suggestions for changing the staff training dates, please note it is made clear on the model calendar that these are suggested dates by the Local Authority. We suggest these dates to assist us with school transport provision.
The Norfolk Calendars for 2021/22 and 2022/23 school term dates have been agreed and are available by clicking on the link: www.norfolk.gov.uk/education-and-learning/schools/term-dates-and-school-holidays. Foundation, Trust, Voluntary Aided Schools and Academies are responsible for setting their own term dates. In practice, most of the schools in Norfolk, use the same term dates. Schools must be open to pupils for 190 days in an academic year and 195 days for teachers.
