Supporting Vision Impaired students as lockdown eases
When preparing designated areas within the school for social distancing purposes please consider choice of colour and texture for marking floor layouts.
Consider:
- Good contrast to the floor it is being applied to
- If you have a student with a vision impairment within your setting, please do not use yellow or white as vision impairment students recognise these contrast colours as a change in level or potential trip hazard
- using texture to indicate changes in designated areas
- alternative ways to alert visually impaired students to changes in designated areas
