Norfolk Commissioning Hub

Introduction

We have been working together with our partners across Norfolk over the past academic year to consider how we can best support the local school improvement system. In discussion with stakeholders we have identified an effective collaborative approach to support this system. This includes a Commissioning Hub to include representatives of the leading commissioners for the region, key local providers and schools. This work had been put on hold due to the pandemic, but we are writing to you to inform you of this collaboration and its next steps and how you can be involved.

The aim of the Commissioning Hub is for an independently chaired Norfolk strategic partnership to co-ordinate groups of stakeholders that share multiple intelligences to:

  • broker support for school improvement
  • monitor and quality assure services and products
  • evaluate and commission school to school support and professional development
  • identify area-wide priorities
  • develop a shared approach to enhancing system capacity
  • promote quality and sustainability
  • ensure equity and equality

Moving forward

We will be convening both district school meetings and training provider meetings to enable greater collaboration of provision across Norfolk.

These will provide an opportunity to outline the Terms of Reference and contribute to Area Reviews to identify district priorities. The meetings will take place termly and discussions from these meeting will inform the overall training needs across the authority. The initial meetings will shape the processes, identify needs and from each district school meeting; seek to elect a district school representative. These school representatives will sit on the Norfolk Commissioning Hub. The meetings will take place in the autumn term and we will communicate with you regularly via email and through Norfolk County Council's Schools and Learning Providers website.
