RSHE Communications

Relationships Education, Relationships and Sex Education and Health Education (RSHE) is now statutory for all schools in the Country. Its introduction has been timely in the current context of Covid-19. Effective, evidence based RSHE will provide children and young people with the key knowledge, values and interpersonal skills to keep themselves safe, happy and healthy.

We are aware that numerous schools have received communications that contain misinformation and materials that are not evidence based, driven by agendas that do not align with the Norfolk County Council commitment to valuing diversity, respect and inclusion.

Norfolk County Council have provided a comprehensive programme of support for schools to embed an effective curriculum of RSHE that is fully compliant with the RSHE Guidance, 2019. These resources will support you to meet the bespoke needs of your school community and align with your school values, within a framework of best practice. Please ensure that any resources your school delivers meet this important threshold prior to using them in school for staff development or curriculum delivery.

If you have any concerns, queries or would like to discuss your RSHE provision, please contact our RSHE Adviser: josie.rayner-wells@norfolk.gov.uk .
