Barclays Account Sort Code Update
As you know Barclays changed our Sort Code back in 2017 from 20-62-53 to 20-62-61 as part of the banking structural reform process. Since this time any payments sent to the old sort code and account number are being automatically redirected by Barclays.
This auto redirection was to cease at the end of March 2021.
In simple terms all paying in books and cheque books using the old sort code would need to be replaced and anyone still sending BACS, CHAPS and Faster Payments to the old sort code would need to be contacted (or risk payments being rejected).
Therefore, any schools who has Paying in Book or Cheque Book with an old Sort Code, needs to contact their Finance Officer to order a new one.
Also, please make sure that your debtors and creditors has the latest Sort Code to prevent any paying in or cheques to be rejected.
