EPSS Core Consultations
At this most difficult time for all schools, please be aware of the progress of Core Consultations. If you are already one of the 210 schools taking part in the project we look forward to our remote meeting as we plough on into 2021.
If you have not yet joined the project, please carry on reading and give consideration to this now.
Context
The purpose of Core Consultations is to provide information and support in the following ways:
- Offer consultation meetings with Educational Psychology and Specialist Support (Specialist Learning Support Teacher and SEMH Practitioner, plus ASD Team member as needed) to all state-funded schools in Norfolk
- Provide recommendations on interventions and strategies to support individual children and young people's needs
- Discuss whole school SEN issues and inclusive practice
- Provide support and professional challenge to ensure a graduated and collaborative approach in meeting children's needs and removing barriers to inclusion
- Signpost schools to other LA SEND services as part of Norfolk's local offer of support
Where we are now
Termly evaluations and feedback from schools provide strong evidence that, despite the restrictions imposed on us all by the Covid-19 situation, remote working has proved an effective means of continuing Core Consultations.
As part of the Local Authority's SEND Transformation Programme (Workstream A), Core Consultations (in partnership with other LA SEND support services) are a free to access service designed to work with you to help you to meet the needs of all your pupils.
