Big Norfolk Holiday Fun - last chance to sign up
Thank you to those of you who have continued to share details of our Big Norfolk Holiday Fun scheme with your families. We've extended the deadline slightly to Monday, 15 March and we're asking if you could send one last reminder to families who are eligible for free school meals to encourage them to sign up.
Pink Orange, who are providing the activity and food boxes, need the next two weeks to prepare the boxes, print materials and have everything ready for the Easter break, so this is the last chance to get families involved. We've been really pleased with the numbers of families that have signed up so far but we still have some activity boxes available, so please help us to spread the word one last time.
As we mentioned, this is a new Department for Education funded scheme to help children and young people to be active and healthy over the school holidays. It's aimed at children who are eligible for means tested free school meals, providing them with a range of fun activities over the Easter, summer and Christmas breaks. The Spring offer will be impacted by the ongoing coronavirus restrictions. Although we are looking at how we can provide some face-to-face activities, much of the focus will be on Pink Orange activity and recipe boxes, alongside an online offer.
Whilst the scheme is for children eligible for means tested free school meals, it's separate to the food support for all children eligible for free school meals. The EdenRed voucher scheme will continue for these families over Easter.
We've attached two versions of the eflyer to this update one aimed more at primary age children and their families and one for older children. Please share whichever one you feel is most appropriate with your eligible families.
